90210 was better this week. I think I'm starting to get to know the characters better and relate to them a little more (as much as a 24 year old woman in Arkansas can relate to a bunch of teens in Beverly Hills) so it's a little easier to watch.

The show starts out with the depressing news that the drama teacher had a family emergency and so the principle was planning on canceling the musical. So Grandma decides she can do it. Thank goodness she's back, this show definitely lacked pizazz without her. What's her name anyway? Oh, who cares. I love her. Anyway, she's the new drama teacher and Annie is not happy about it. I am though, because GRANDMA IS FREAKING AWESOME! She treats us to some singing and dancing while she tries to show the kids how to be more passionate - we also learn she's a retired actress. But mostly, Grandmas is just a total jerk. She yells at Annie and embarrasses everyone so Brenda offers to step in and help the kids, because she's like an actress or something so surely this will all wind up fantastic. After watching a video of herself yelling at the kids, Grandma decides to step down and continue doing what she does best - drinking.

Naomi isn't doing too well dealing with her Dad's affair - she's pretty much a hot mess. On a side note though, is this not a sign of the times? Naomi's family takes their family Christmas picture without her sister, and her mom says that they'll "photoshop her in." Hilarious. Anyway, Naomi is freaking out, you'd think SHE was the one married to the dude. She even goes so far as to call the woman on her dad's phone and hang up. Freaky. Anyway, she ends up talking Ethan into going to this woman's shop with her to confront her and tell her to stop sleeping with her dad. Unfortunately, the woman locks her in the shop and confesses she'll be living in their family beach house. Whoops. Naomi goes and spills the beans to her mother who is devastated, probably mostly because she signed a pre-nup. I don't know, I'm just speculating.

Annie has some relationship issues this episode - Ty asks her to go see Vampire Weekend with him and she declines, which is dumb because he's got GREAT taste in music. He obviously gets all in a huff because he basically ignores her for most of the rest of the episode. Annie is blowing him off for ETHAN, which Silver says isn't a great idea because Ethan and Naomi are destined to make each other miserable for the rest of their lives. But, Silver was right, Ethan doesn't show up for their date and Annie decides to go back to Ty after all. Besides the fact that he's totally into her, always go for the guy who has no relationship hang ups and a private jet. That's what I do. Ethan and Naomi DO get back together in this episode, after she helps him with his brother and he helps her with her dad's mistress. They also like wearing monkey hats and making out so...that's basically it. Also, Dixon and Silver decide to finally start going out this episode.

Speaking of Dixon, he backs his mini van into a BMW and decides to get a job to pay the kid instead of telling his parents. But he picks up too many shifts and starts failing school so his dad finds out anyway and ends up paying it off for him. Wow, that's so creative. I've so never seen this lesson taught in any other teen show, ever. Never. Amazing. Not.

The old 90210 crowd is all watching tonight to find out who the baby daddy is, though. There were rumors that we'd find out who Kelly made a baby with and it was true - Brenda ends up spilling the beans that it was DYLAN! That would mean so much more to me if I had watched 90210 the first time around, but I was watching Saved by the Bell and Power Rangers when it came out so I've never even seen an episode. She and Ryan are kind of in a weird situation too, because everyone thinks Kelly is still in love with Dylan. Brenda points this out and we're all left with that, "Maybe she's right" feeling.

And my final thought on this week's episode: Annie and Dixon's dad is really, really hot. The end.
